It wasn’t easy, but Vasyl Lomachenko was able to overcome a knockdown and win his third world title in as many weight classes in just his eleventh fight.
The undercard featured 2016 Olympic gold medalist Fazliddin Gaibnazarov, who stopped Jesus Silveira in the fourth round of a scheduled eight rounder. Gaibnazarov was considerably more engaging here than in previous, throwing punches with more commitment. It allowed Silveira to get a few shot of his own to land, however Gaibnazarov’s pedigree was too much over come.
2016 Olympian and highly touted prospect Teofimo Lopez blasted Viktor Jones Freitas in less than one round.
