Taylor Stops Davies in Seven

In what was the best pairing of undefeated British prospects since James DeGale and George Groves, Josh Taylor (10-0, 9 KO) methodically beats Ohara Davies (15-1, 12 KO) into submission in seven rounds. After a meticulous two opening frames, Taylor’s timing and accuracy took over the fight. A right jab to the temple of Davies staggered and floored him. Taylor never let up, his poise, balance and assortment of right hooks and straight lefts to the body and head overwhelmed Davies. Davies fought back valiantly and seemingly won the fifth round until a Taylor right hook disrupted his equilibrium. Taylor floored Davies with another counter right hook in the seventh round. After getting up, the onslaught continued and Davies turned his back to Taylor and made referee Howard Foster intervene.
