Charlo Regains His Title: Knocks Harrison out in 11

Jermell Charlo successfully regained his WBC super welterweight title with an eleventh-round technical knockout win over Tony Harrison. In an entertaining affair, both men had no trouble finding each other in the center of the ring. The action began to percolate in the second when Charlo connected with a left hook that rocked Harrison and a following right landed while Harrison was off balance and caused a knockdown. Harrison rebounded nicely as he was able to take the fight to Charlo, pressure him intelligently while blocking and parrying several Charlo shots. In a bout with plenty of competitive rounds, Charlo was able to drop Harrison twice in the eleventh which prompted referee Jack Reiss to bring a halt to the action. For Harrison, this is the third loss he has suffered when he was seemingly ahead but suffered dramatic knockout losses.

2016 US Olympian Karlos Balderas suffered his first loss as a professional. He was given the benefit of the doubt by the referee but couldn’t recover. 2016 Olympian Efe Ajagba may need more development, but he is going to make excellent fights in the next upcoming years. Omar Narvaez lost to a journeyman, maybe a sign to call it a career.
